The protests in Turkiye which exploded last summer in Taksim Square against government plans to privatize and commercialize public space has been a clarion call to the population to stand up for open space, and the free political, cultural and artistic expression of the Turkish people. Artists, scholars, intellectuals and performers have been at the forefront of this movement, creating public art in resistance to police crackdowns and violence.
This is a rare opportunity to experience performances created by Turkish and American artists within the movement, and to hear how art is literally changing the world. See you there!
